Golden Shine

The sun sets over Southbank in Melbourne.

I took this shot using my nifty fifty during Trey Ratcliff’s Melbourne Photowalk back in January.

The walk had over 200 people attend, which made it quite easy to put a few people in the frame for this shot.

Berth 5, North Wharf, Melbourne

This photo of Berth number 5 on Melbourne’s North Wharf was taken on a recent walk along the Yarra River.

It was early morning (just after sunrise), which gives the photo a nice warn glow.

This location is heritage listed. You can view more details in the Victorian Heritage Database.

DJB Photography Workshop – Melbourne City Lights & Laneways Night Walk

Last night I attended the third (and last) photography workshop by DJB Photography.

This walk was my favourite – it was at night, giving me a some great opportunities for some night photos around Melbourne’s laneways, roof tops and night spots.

Below is a selection of my favourite photos:

Warning: Some of the artwork in the second photo is quite offensive

If you haven’t already seen my photos from the first and second nights, I’d love it if you could take a look.

Overall, I found the Triple Walk Workshop very useful. I learnt a few things, met some interesting people and took hundreds of photos in manual mode.

I’d like to thank Daniel for showing us some great photo spots, and giving us some great tips.

DJB Photography Workshop – Melbourne Laneways

Last night I attended my second of three photography workshops by DJB Photography.

We explored quite a few Melbourne laneways, spotting some jaw-dropping street art. It’s amazing how much more you notice when you’re carrying around a camera!

Below are some of my favourite photos:

If you haven’t already seen last night’s photos, be sure to take a look.

Thanks to Claire for helping us all over the last two nights.

DJB Photography Workshop – Melbourne Essentials

Last night I attended the first of three photography workshops by DJB Photography.

We explored Southbank, Hardware Lane, and a few other parts of the Melbourne CBD.

It was the first time I’ve attempted to shoot all my photos in manual mode.

Here’s a selection of shots that turned out ok:
